In honor of the 24th annual Women in Construction Week (March 6-12) and Women’s Hisotry Month (March) we asked our own Marissa Davis, Industrial Estimating Manager, to comment on her experiences in the construction industry.
“I began my career in construction in 2011. I’ve worked in field purchasing, account management, project estimating, managing soft craft hiring, and now managing the Industrial Estimating Team for General Insulation Co. Being a woman in the industry has given me more determination to push myself to get to where I am today. My advice is to be confident in your ability to succeed and don’t let stereotypes or biases limit your career growth. Stay humble, have a curious mind, keep learning and prove your value. I encourage women to join our industry.”
