Amazon’s New Mass Timber Delivery Facility Showcases Acoustic TimberBatt from TimberHP!
Amazon has just unveiled the first large-scale owner-occupied mass timber logistics facility in the U.S. a visionary delivery station in Elkhart, Indiana, constructed with Southern Yellow Pine cross-laminated timber panels, glulam beams, and insulated throughout with our 3″ acoustic TimberBatt. This flagship project isn’t just a logistics hub, it’s a living sustainability lab, testing over 40 innovations from permeable paving and low-carbon concrete to advanced stormwater management and energy-efficient lighting, all aimed at minimizing environmental impact and setting a new standard for climate action.
By choosing mass timber and our wood fiber insulation, Amazon is demonstrating a path to cut embodied carbon by up to 43% compared to traditional concrete and steel construction. Our TimberBatt plays a crucial role, contributing to resilience, comfort, and building performance as Amazon pursues net-zero operations by 2040.
TimberHP is honored to be the insulation partner trusted on this landmark project, working alongside Amazon, ZGF Architects, and a coalition of leaders committed to real climate solutions. This is more than a supply story, it’s proof that TimberHP meets the needs of the world’s most demanding and innovative customers, earning a place in their most ambitious projects and furthering our mission to empower healthy, sustainable communities.
