General Insulation is pleased to announce the promotion of two Inside Salesmen to the position of Operations Manager. As 2009 ends and 2010 begins, Nick Shore and Jake Spiek begin their new journeys.

Nick grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts, and after high school, he played Division 1 football for a year at Sacred Heart University. After a year at Sacred Heart, Nick transferred to Salve Regina University where he graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Information System Science. After college, Nick moved to Florida, earned his Series 3 License, and became a commodities broker. In 2008, after four years as a broker, Nick’s high school friend, Ron Twombly of the Dayton, Ohio branch, introduced him to General Insulation. In March of 2008, Larry Murphy met with Nick and soon he began working in the warehouse of Orlando’s branch and after two months he became an inside sales representative for the branch. Nick quickly became acclimated to the insulation industry. Using the skills he developed in the warehouse and in the office of General Insulation in Orlando, Nick will have a smooth transition to the new Operations Manager in General Insulation’s Austin, Texas branch.

Jake grew up on the Jersey Shore, where he played a lot of athletics. After high school, Jake attended Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After Coastal Carolina, Jake moved to Burlington, Vermont to work for a party supply company. Jake ran a crew that set up giant tents for big events. Next, Jake spent a lot of time in North and South Carolina bartending at a lot of different places. Wishing to no longer be a part of the bar scene, Jake became aware of a driver position in the Washington, DC branch of General Insulation. Jake began driving and working in the warehouse, which allowed him to learn about the product, the industry, and the customers. Soon, Jake became an inside salesman which also meant a relocation to Tampa, Florida. Since his relocation to Tampa, Jake has gained experience from the perspective of a sales representative. These new skills, coupled with his field experience, made Jake the perfect candidate for the Operations Manager position in the newest branch—Jacksonville, Florida.

Please join General Insulation in congratulation Nick and Jake and wishing them the best of luck in their new positions!
