October 1 marked the beginning of General Insulation Company’s new fiscal year. As of the new year, GIC is pleased to announce two new employee promotions.

Mike Benoit, former outside salesman for the Malden branch, has been named the Sales Development Director at the corporate office. Mike holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Business Management from Boston State College. Mike started his career in the insulation industry in 1987 when he began working for General Insulation in the Somerville, Massachusetts location (now the Malden branch). Mike worked as an inside salesman under the guidance of Larry Murphy and Scott Campbell. In 1990, Mike became the operations manager at the branch until 1993 when he began his position as outside sales representative. Now, at the start of the 2010 fiscal year, Mike begins his new position at the corporate office.

Eugene Casterline, of the Buffalo, New York branch, has been named the General Manager for Buffalo and Rochester, New York. Eugene began his career in the insulation industry straight out of high school by working as an insulation installer for thirteen years. Eugene worked for non union contractors, but eventually he joined the Local 4 as a union mechanic. While working, Eugene continued his education by receiving his Associate Degree in Accounting. During a brief hiatus from insulation by working at Dunlop Tire as a supervisor, Eugene continued his schooling at SUNY school near Buffalo. Eugene holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor concentration in Occupational Safety and Health. Eugene began working for General Insulation in 2003 as an operations manager in the Buffalo branch under the guidance of Al Zaepfel. As of the new fiscal year, Eugene holds the position of general manager of the two Western New York locations.

Please join General Insulation in congratulating Mike and Eugene for their new positions. Good luck!
